Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has had a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-time mentor Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from that period of that year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early chances in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
